Benula is a Victorian stone house in the traditional Kingussie style which is a bit
more spacious than most holiday cottages in the Cairngorms. It provides 4 star self-catering
accommodation for larger groups or families but is still cosy enough for even a couple.
Weekly rates for 2009 are from £450 low season to £650 peak season. There is a double
bedroom with en-suite shower room, two twins and a single. These provide comfortable
sleeping accommodation for 7 adults and with the use of a sofabed in the study, an
additional person can be accommodated. A cot is also available on request. There
is a separate dining room and the large kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern
facilities that are needed for self catering. The light and airy lounge faces south
and has a welcoming open fire. Internet access by WiFi. Non-smoking. Well behaved
pets can be accepted by agreement.
In a superb sunny location on the high ground to the north of Kingussie near the
end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Guests have exclusive use of its own grounds of 0.3 acre,
which have views of the Cairngorms and Insh Marshes. There is off-street parking
for 4 cars and a lockable outbuilding can be used for ski or mountain bike storage.
The golf course is nearby.
Kingussie is one of the larger villages in the Cairngorms National Park, able to
supply all the provisions needed for self catering. There are several places to eat
within easy walking distance and a short car journey away are restaurants in Insh,
Newtonmore and Aviemore. There are many recreational activities in the Cairngorms
National Park including walking, skiing, sailing, golf, birdwatching, pony trekking,
mountain biking, fishing and those catering for the family such as the Highland Folk
Museum and the Landmark Centre.
